Depicted is the Judeo-Christian God of Love on a rant. The Jesus is depicted in his Christmas incarnation as supporter of Consumer Capitalism, plus there's a crown-of-thorns for those more attracted to his martyr role. The Holy Ghost is a modified secretary bird. The maw of Hell is lower right. The moon leers lewdly while the sun rolls it's eyes at the silliness and incipient violence of anthropomorphizing God.
Growing up both Catholic and Gay I was moved to question why the God of Love hated Gay people. I read many books and devoted much thought to the subject over the years. Salvation came in the form of a book, "The Darkening Age" by Catherine Nixey. Early Christians, besides burning every book they could lay their hands on. preached hate from the very beginning against anyone who didn't hold their views. 2000 years of hating Jews, Muslims, people who had sex for pleasure, Protestants, "witches," heretics, etc. Unfortunately Gays are the only ones left to sate their needs. It helped me to understand the sameness of religion and Fascism, give people someone to feel morally and/or intellectually superior to and you're in business.
